If Google has inspired the people for recreational geographers, then Earth Explorer is just a small effort to help the people supplement their interests. The vector layers features coastlines, political boundaries, longitude-latitude grids and rivers. It offers a 50 m/pixel resolution for the entire world. It is an easy-to-use interface with a real time load displaying high-resolution information on your desktop. It allows additions to the user-defined paths, place marks and comments over the places. You can calculate and measure the distance between any two points of your choice. Alternatively, you can search for a specific island, city or country by its name.

It provides a compass, Map legend and a map scale on its display. It enables you to print and print preview, and at the same time, you can control the size and resolution of your print. You can perform all these operations under a full screen mode, pan and zoom to rotate and observe the planet earth in minutest details. Scroll, on the scroll key of the mouse to see the zoom in and zoom out effects. You can configure it to show the day and night shadow effects, select a star space as its background and adjust the gamma in order to control the lamination.
