Earth Explorer a breakthrough in capabilities to learn about Earthquakes

Geophysicists are now looking up to downward the latest version of earth explorer This is done by using radar satellite data to chart tiny changes in surface topography And gaining insight into what is actually happening as earthquakes and tectonic shifts occur deep beneath the surface of the Earth.

Many of the groups of researchers those who have been got ESA satellite data from the past years to analyze the movements in the planetary crust that are both the causes and consequences of earthquakes. This planetary crust observation is necessary to track earth surface movements which is necessary to track feature earthquakes.

If we look down the Earth from 800 km away from the space it provides a way to identify tiny sub-centimeter shifts in the planet's surface across tens of kilometers that might go unseen otherwise this observation is done using a technique called Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Interferometer, or in short we can say InSAR.

Radar Images: Through inSAR, It is possible to get multiple satellite radar images of the same place that can be acquired from as near as possible to the same point in space in different times these changes of images are necessary to track changes of earth‘s surface which can be seen in dotted highlighted colors.

Even you can figure out tiniest surface shift changes these changes can be tracked from the distance this can be done by a radar signal to travel down to the surface of the Earth and back to the satellite, any change in earth ‘s surface will alter the phase of the signal. It just like sets of ripples meeting in water, the combination of radar signals that have different phases sets up interference patterns, so these combined rainbow-colored images are known as interferograms.

This resulting interference fringes can be think of as resembling color lines, but on very reduced scales. Once these topographic and atmospheric effects are accounted for, this fringes remaining on an interferogram can be used to precisely measure the extent of any tiny earthquakes this mechanism is just like working like a space-based version of spot the difference.

In modern-day physics that concerns either very small (atomic-scale) or very large (cosmic-scale) objects.

Studying geophysics objects is a way of working on things you can see in everyday life such as a mountain range, you can work out how these big mountains came to develop, observing rivers and their covered areas, volcanoes and their locations etc. these geographical observations are necessary to observe impact of nature on human life.

And unlike in modern theoretical physics, in which most discoveries in geophysics are still made through observations. Geophysicists are now learning to know how the Earth operates and through a natural combination of different types of observations with mathematical modeling.

These combinations of geographic models and mathematics model it is now possible to figure out accurate and precise calculations about earthquakes and its intensity anywhere in the world
