General Servir‘s Product Description

The SERVIR’s website is organized into four main sections you can see this hyperlinks on each page of Servir’s website. You can see its general descriptions on the servir’s “About” page. It contains the Directory and list of contact information for project managers of servir, the libery option of servir’s contains documentation from of its workshops, and conferences, and the gallery options offers a large collection of image related to any country. If you are looking for general information about any country using Servir’s project, you can see these links are the place at the starting page of server.

SERVIR’s Use Case: Servir uses GEOSS which is also called Global Earth Observation System of Systems and points to some Social Benefits which are into organize three of products of server.

Real-Time Image Viewer: Serivr’s Real time image viewer uses a web-browser for viewing, animating, and downloading the various SERVIR real-time image products and utilities.

Servir-Viz: Servir-Viz allows users to view remotely hosted data and real-time images in a 3 dimensional globe.

Servir‘s Data Portal: Servir‘s is a online product from servir that gives real time online data product and image search system.

These key areas of servir offer different ways to explorer and get advanced information across the globe. These use case along with servir gives many application to predict accurate measurement of climate and its estimation.

Climate Change Scenarios: The Servir project, under USAID has developed for comprehensive regional climate change scenarios of countries for future years. This includes estimating climate for 2010, 2015, 2025, 2050, and 2099. This estimation are given in scenarios these scenarios are useful to predict future temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. This future estimation is given in models.

With these models we can examine the effects of changes in land use and greenhouse gas emissions and their density in atmosphere. And then developed quantitative estimates on how these changes will affect future climates and humans. These estimates can be used to develop regional and national climate change simulations models and prototypes, with these prototypes we can identify adaptive management strategies for responding to these changes.

Cloud Climatology: The satellite derived cloud climatology product quantifies from serviz offers how often clouds are observed over a particular location at a specified time of observation. Frequency of occurrence of clouds (FOC) which is defined as the percentage of observations for which clouds are observed to be present over a particular location, is computed for monthly and decadal (which is 10-day) periods. For a monthly time period Frequency of occurrence of clouds of 50 percent means that the clouds were observed over a particular location 15 out of 30 days, while for a decadal (10 days) time period. it means clouds were observed for 5 out of 10 days.

Since cloud cover impacts the amount of sun rays (which is also called radiation) reaching the earth‘s surface, cloud climatology has several environmental management applications. It is useful for land management planners, for example, if you want to identify farming areas that require shade such as shade coffee. Frequency of occurrence of clouds along with information can also be used to identify cloud forest areas

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
