Know about Servir-Viz
Servir-Viz has helped in short-term weather prediction. Servir-Viz is working in the collaboration with atmospheric science department to give short-term weather prediction. Servir-Viz is working to give suite of short-term weather prediction. This weather prediction is six hour long. These short terms weather predictions have helped to predict many devastating events of nature such as thunderstorms, lightening etc. These short-term weather predictions are called convective iniation.
The convective iniation is Servir-Viz is working with infrared to give accurate weather prediction. This has helped to monitor movement and evolving of clouds. Thus, it helped in weather prediction. This functionality of Servir-Viz is driven by Satellite convection analysis and tracking program. This weather prediction is updated in every half an hour. And it will be posted on Servir-Viz‘s website. There are other products that integrated into Servir-Viz‘s SATCAST program, it also helped to develop and design of other Servir-Viz’s related weather prediction models and satellites.
The weather forecast products of Servir-Viz has helped to give accurate prediction of other nature‘s devastating events such as floods, landslides, earthquakes etc. there are other “Now casting” products of Servir-Viz available and these help to measure daily incoming solar radiation and monitor volcanic activities.
These “now casting” images can be viewed, animated and downloaded from Servir-Viz’s real-time image viewer. These now casting images of Servir-Viz embedded with other Servir-Viz‘s partner’s data products. These data products can be overplayed with other regional datasets. These images are run by Servir-Viz‘s three-dimensional viewer application.
Servir-Viz usually gets images from GEOES-12 satellite, which is a geostationary-based satellite, working on remote sensing platform. This satellite is working from 22000 miles above from the earth. It is located 75-degree west longitude at the equator. This satellite is able to monitor clouds movement and vertical temperature structure of the atmosphere.
This satellite is used by weather analyst to monitor cloud movements and development of thunderstorms. This has helped in daily forecasting of weather. It also helped to warm public of developing severe storms. It is used to update in every 30 minutes the real-time imagery of Servir-Viz is available in animated format for analysis.
The short-term weather forecast by Servir-Viz is helped for strengthening regional capacity, which is a primary objective of Servir-Viz project. This short-term project of Servir-Viz is working for regional weather forecasts. This weather forecast is based on PSU/NCAR mesoscale model, which is a short-term weather model.
The earth observation and weather forecasting by Servir-Viz has helped in mature forecasting, this weather forecast are accurate and concise. The national research council report of weather services of United States of America is working with Servir-Viz’s weather prediction services.
Servir-Viz has partners at all levels to support and meeting weather needs. It has diverse user community. The other communities that are contributed for Servir-Viz ‘s weather forecasting services are meteorological services and supporting research communities ,which are also known as federal coordinator for meteorology. These services are using effective use of Servir-Viz‘s data products. Thus, systemic coordination of services is necessary to meet weather requirements and prediction.
