Live Search Maps: Creating and managing your collection
Collections are useful for organizing information into collections with the collections editor. Whatever changes you make are automatically saved by Live Search Maps. When you search for any item it appears in the results pane and such items from the results can be added to your collection.
Create a collection
1)For this you need to sign in to Live Search Maps. Sign in with your Windows Live ID.
2)Then from the toolbar, click on the button collections. After this click “Open your collections”.
3)Choose the option “New collection”. If you are not able to see this option, click “Your collections”, and from there you can select it. This will create a new collection.
4)You have to give a suitable title for this collection. Put a suitable relevant title. You can also add some notes your collection. You can type any tags for your collection but they should be relevant i.e. From them one should be able to make out what collection it is. Thus you will make your collection easier to find by the other users.
5)However it is up to you whether you want to let others view your collection or not. For this you can either select or ignore the “Turn on sharing” check box. When you select this check box you will get the further options for sharing. You can choose the ones which you want.
6)This completes the procedure. After this just click Save.
Once you create your collection, you can at anytime access edit or manage your collection.
Opening your collection
1)Sign in to the Live Search Maps using your Windows Live ID.
2)Then click the option “Collections”, located on the toolbar. Further choose the option “Open your collections”.
3)Then in the collections editor, you will find the list of collections. Choose the collection which you want to open.
Opening somebody else collection
1)Login to Live Search Maps using your “Windows Live ID”.
2)You can search or explore the collections available at Live Search Maps. Findout and choose the collection which you would like to open.
3)Then in the left pane, at the bottom of them which you want, click the link next to “Open collection”.
Adding an item in somebody else collection to your own collection
1)Sign in to the Live Search Maps using your Windows Live ID.
2)Search explore Live Search Maps for finding out the collection your want. Choose the collection which you would like to open.
3)Then in the left pane under the item which you want to add to your collection, click the option “Add to collection”.
4)Select, among your own collection the collection which you would like to add that item. This completes the procedure, and therefore click “Save”.
Notes:
If you want to add items to a particular collection by just pointing at an item on the map and then click “Add to collection”. Select the collection to which you want to add that item and then click “Save”.
