Servir –Viz – some more facts
Latest improvements of servir ‘viz include some additional functionality along with bug fixing. Some of the improvements like WMS identification tool through user get information about any attribute. It is based on Nasa‘s world wind version 1.4. The key focus of servir viz is to ability to access Nasa world wind services it is one of the stand alone executable software, an interactive user interface of servir viz provide quick access to servir ‘s products. Servir was developed to support Mesoamerica countries including educators, scientists, decision – makers, and for public. Servir is not developed for commercial use.
Servir‘s layer manager allows you to turn layer on and off servir viz. you can turn layers on by checking box of the layer name. And turn off by un-checking box. You can even zoom it to see how many layers are available.
there are various search options are available like you can specify search limitation for example star and end of year this is only information needed to perform global search. You can also specify search radius default radius is 500 km. When all the search criteria met then servir fetch data from its huge database. This search includes fetching detail and summary information related to particular topic. It shows location in points. As you hover mouse over the map it will show location place and detail. You can also clear results while clicking clear button on the screen.
Servir is now able to provide first set of three dimensional anaglyph posters for Central American countries which is based on NASA’s shuttle Radar topography. To see these images you need a special red or blue anaglyph glasses. User can also make his or her anaglyph glasses.
These full size anaglyph posters are in JPEG format and screen views are not viewed in 3 dimensional format on computer screen because they serve only as a reference thus full size posters can be viewed in 3 Dimensional format only using full resolution. They are ideally designed for paper size of 36*48.
Servir has been implemented by across many agencies including NASA, the United states for international development, the central American commission for environment and development, the world bank, the nature conservancy and the united nations environmental program and IAGT. Private sector partners are also coming to support servir including cable and wireless panama and EGE Fortuna SA. Not only these there are other servir partners support servir‘s services. Servir uses global earth observation system of systems to provide benefits to its key area and its partners
