Servir Viz is extremely useful to predict short term weather conditions. At present, Servir Viz is operating with atmospheric science department to provide short term weather predictions. Weather predictions are generally 6 hours long.

Servir Viz is used for solving many problems that occur by natural disasters. These problems include rains, human health, and food security. Millions of people relocate every year because of poor infrastructure and heavy rains. That is why, proper calculation and identification is essential to predict these devastating events. It is basically designed to serve the people and make them aware of the catastrophic events that may come in future. This high technology tool has played an important role in monitoring the environment of countries.

In some cases, high density surface and poor infrastructure can create some serious hazards. That is why Servir Viz has come up with several products to analyze events and monitor existing hazards. Servir Viz software comes with flood maps. These maps monitor watershed and discharged run off.

These short term weather predictions have predicted many catastrophic events of nature that include lightening and thunderstorms. These weather predictions are commonly referred as convective initiation. There are many utilities of this software (Servir Viz). For instance, earth observation based services are supported by Servir Viz.

New features added in Servir Viz 2.0 are as follows:

1) New English/Spanish interface has been added with a mouse click.

2) The layer manager content is updated and there is no need to uninstall/install for getting new content.

3) New WMS functionality for improving overall usability.

4) Ability to install independently, from World Wind, both applications can now run from same computer and at the same time.

5) New online is available for users to explain specific Servir Viz functionalities (currently online help is available in English but soon will be available in Spanish too).

6) More scientific content is now applied to Mesoamerican region in GEOSS decision support section.

7) New compass functionality is added that shows real-time heading. You will also find new overview map or inset map of the region.

9) Ability to dynamically make measurements

10) Ability to locate geographic positions by using degrees or decimal degrees, seconds and minutes format.

Servir 2.1 includes the following new features:

WMS Identity tool is added and now the software is using source code of version 1.4. Distance measure tool now can measure several segments and show the total distance.

2) Auto update feature of Servir Viz 2.1 has been enhanced to make it more efficient. GEOSS image overlay is updated to give better results when the view is tilted.

3 ) New connectors are also added and older connectors have been completely eliminated.

4) Video recorder and KML Importer have also been deleted. Sky gradient has now replaced atmospheric halo.

5) New scalar bar and 3D compass have been added. Servir 2.1 shows almost live cloud coverage of the globe every 3 hours.

6) Country names and limits have now become a WMS Service. These enhancements have now made Servir Viz more powerful and efficient.
