Servir .viz With 2.1 versions
Servir-viz allows integration of scientific data while using open source 3-D Visualization technology this makes it possible for individuals and organizations to monitor and examine environmental events while taking consideration of human impacts. SERVIR-VIZ can be used as a geospatial data visualization workstation. This is capable of displaying both raster and Vector data layers.
SERVIR-VIZ has been developed by server research partner (Which is The Institute for the application of Geospatial Technology) SERVIR partners enable spatial data infrastructures, including advanced new technologies for the visualization to get real time data.
SERVIR-VIZ has won many prestigious prices like International digital earth #D visualization grand challenge.
You can download the free version of server-viz from the internet. The download option is available on servir’s home page. The latest version of servir –viz provides new functionality with Servir specific enhancement and some bug fixes.
You can get latest updates of servir from its “what‘s new “option from its website But it is recommended that one must see release notes and check configuration setting before download its latest version.
There are various versions are available in which you can get latest improvements of servir-viz these version are described in below paragraphs.
New feature of servir-viz-2.1 including bug fixes is described as follows:- It has WMS Identify Tool which is now available. you can get its attribute information by GetFeatureInfo query to a WMS layer. You can Right click on SERVIR’s WMS , turn identify mode on and then right-click on a layer and make a active layer, and you can click on the map
It uses World Wind source code version 1.4, SERVIR WMS Layers can be ordered (you can do so by right-click on SERVIR WMS Interface, and order),you can get Updated auto-update feature, so each file will be uniquely identified and dated, It Update GEOSS Image overlay and get more accurate overlays when view is tilted, it Removed "nighttime add-on" option which uses Scientific Visualization Studio to see lights at night
Servir-viz 2.1 added some new and removed out dated features of data plug-in, Widget and cores which are given in following paragraphs
Some of the Plug-ins are described as -KML Importer added, Movie Recorder removed, KML importer updated, Place Finder Loader (which Supports more geocoders), New WMS importer with Get Capabilities support added, Atmospheric halo replaced with sky gradient, Waving Flags (3D version of the flags of the world add-on), GPS Tracker added, Anaglyph 3D added (which is used for true 3D using Red/Blue glasses).
Some of the change features of data can be given-: New NRL data, Boundaries served by WMS, WFS place names, Global near-real-time clouds (Which are updated in every 3 hours)
Some of the change features of Core can be given- Added “what's new” feature in 1.4 pages to configuration wizard, New accurate sun shading, Support for 3D models, Atmosphere (With Improved with atmospheric scattering), With Added widget support
Some of the change features of Widget can be given- New scale bar, Time controller, 3D compass widget, Removed background, Mars, Moon, removed SDSS icons, Installer: .Net 2.0 check, it has installer for command line tags NODOTNET, /NODX, /NOMDX) to skip detection of .NET, DirectX 9.0c, and Managed DirectX, to skip checks respectively
