Servir Viz’s features
Servir Viz is a 3D mapping software that is mostly used for observing weather conditions of planet Earth. It is a regional monitoring and visualization system for Mesoamerica that combines geospatial and satellite data for improved decision making by students, researchers, managers, and general public.
Using this software, you can roam freely around the world and all visit different cities, locations of this world. You can also zoom in to various places to observe a particular location in more detail. This extremely useful product can predict weather conditions. At present, the satellite is operating with the atmospheric science department to give weather predictions. These predictions are mostly 6 hours long. They are used to solve many problems that mainly occur due to natural disasters. Problems include human health, food security, and rains. Servir Viz is used to forecast ecological changes and events such as tropical storms, red tides, and forest fires.
Today many people have to relocate due to heavy rains and poor infrastructure. Hence, proper identification and calculation is necessary for predicting these devastating events. Basically it is designed to make people aware of catastrophic events that can come in future. This tool has played a key role in monitoring environment of various countries.
In some cases, poor infrastructure and high density surface can create serious hazards, hence Servir Viz software has come up with products to monitor existing hazards and analyze events. Flood maps have been added. These maps monitor discharged run off and watershed.
New features that have been added in the latest version of Servir Viz make it more interactive and useful. It has a new Spanish/ English interface for convenience. Layer manager content is now updated and you don't have to install or uninstall to get the new content. New WMS functionality has also been added to improve overall usability. You will find more content that is scientific about Mesoamerican region in the GEOSS decision support section. New compass functionality displays real time heading. You can now find new inset map or overview map of the region.
The ability to dynamically take measurements such as distance between 2 locations has made it very popular. Distance measure tool can now calculate several segments and display the total distance. It can locate geographic positions using decimal degrees, minutes, and second’s format. New connectors have been added and older connectors are also eliminated. Auto update feature has been enhanced. The makers of Servir Viz have also updated the GEOSS image overlay so that it gives better results when you tilt the view. You will also find new 3D compass and scalar bar in the new version of Servir viz.
Servir Viz 2.1 displays live cloud coverage of our Earth. This feature is provided by very few satellite programs. Country limits and names have become now a WMS Service. These new enhancements have made the software more efficient and powerful.
Servir Viz predictions have successfully predicted catastrophic events including thunderstorms and lightening. These predictions are called convective initiation.
