Using the Servir Viz Plug-Inns
Measure Tool: Measure tool is used to measuring the data in your PC. If you want to use this tool, then click onto the measure tool and change the cursor. After that, if you click on the Servir Viz terrain, measuring will be started. If you want to stop measuring, move your cursor to another point and click on to Stop Measuring. If you want to create the measurement line, click again and the results will be vanished.
GEOSS Decision Support: If you want to stretch the headings, just click on the plus symbol. Then move on to the data layer in order to see it. A list of layers will come out in the middle of the window. Then click on the layer and view at the bottom where a description of the layer will be appeared. If you want to add this picture to the Servir Viz terrain, click on the Load tab. If you want to systematize the transparencies, you can use the opacity-sliding bar. If you select multiple entries, you can view the animated layers. If you want to remove the images, just press cancel tab. If you want to clear the layers from the screen, just uncheck the box by GEOSS Decision Support in the Layer Manager. You should also note that GEOSS Ocean / Marine Environments, GEOSS Weather, GEOSS Disaster, GEOSS Ecology and the GEOSS Climate, all these tools work in a same manner.
Historical Earthquake Query: This is one of the most important tools of the Servir Viz. If you want to make any historical or earthquake query, select your search method. Then type search limitations like starting and ending year of the event. This is the only information required for a global search. If you want to make a rectangular query, you will have to enter the decimal degrees of the required area. If you click on Get from World Wind, you can find the area that is currently seen on the Servir Viz terrain. This will spontaneously show the coordinates of the rectangular viewing area.
In the same way, if you want to make a radial query, enter the longitude and latitude for the center of the search. If you want to utilize the center of the present Servir Viz view, just click on Get lat/lon from World wind. This will automatically show the present coordinate of the center of the screen.
While making this query, type the search radius in kilometers for which the default value is 500 km. After that, click on Query Database, when you have entered all the of the parameters. Then a list of the major 5 earthquakes will come out.
A summery of the total earthquakes found will also be provided along with it. Points will also come out where the earthquakes are positioned on the Servir Viz terrain. If you move the cursor over a specific earthquake, you can learn in detail information about that earthquake. If you want to remove all the results from your screen, just click on clear tab.
